The weekend features two linked workshops. With the focus on documentary making, Pieter de Vries will share the techniques that have made him one of the leading documentary cinematographers in the world. Come on the Saturday or the Sunday. Attending both days ensures that you take with you, a total production experience that will round out or add to your existing filmmaking skills. You will be inspired and keen to try out new creative techniques. |

SATURDAY the storyCurrent video cameras are capable of capturing stunning images resulting in a comparatively technically even playing field. However presenting a compelling story is not only about image quality - few people in an audience have an emotional response to impressive image resolution. Good audio also, is absolutely critical.The essential element of a good video presentation is simply, The Story. It follows that priority should be placed on coming up with good ideas and devising engaging sequences. These ideas form the kernel of the day. Along with cinematographers, directors and producers will also find this workshop of benefit. Having a clearer understanding of camera and audio equipment can be incredibly helpful. |
SUNDAY the cameraThis workshop studies shooting-for-the-edit techniques, lens choices, camera movement and audio options. Pieter will also update you on the latest camera features, accessories and gadgets. |
